The Tarkine

This was one of the most special trips I've made into the Tarkine. Perhaps it was guiding with Christoph (a great friend of mine) again, or perhaps it was some great clients that have since become good friends. Whatever it was, the trip went really well, we saw 40 dolphins up the Pieman River, we each made a wonderful connection with both the place and it's residents, and all had a wonderful time.

"Wow!  What a week!  It has had a profound effect on me…  I now have a “burn in the belly” that I haven’t felt for years. Thank you all for sharing this amazing experience with me."

Jackie also wrote this wonderful poem about her time in The Tarkin: I walked.

Jackie, Vic.

"I’m still coming down from the trip. It was terrible to fly into Brisbane to a traffic-infested city and a heat wave. The Tarkine is incredible. Michael and I were deeply moved from that trip, and it seemed we weren’t alone."

Ingrid, QLD

I am overwhelmed by the people we met and how in such a short time you can really bond with people from different places in Australia.  I never believed that I could have felt this even though Glen and Christoph did indicate we would become a family…  I am one of the luckiest people alive to have shared the Tarkine trip with you all.

That place was truly magical.  I have been asked by many how the trip was and can only respond with “the most amazing thing I have ever done”.  It was beautiful, comforting, and peaceful; and yet so vulnerable and exposed…

Kim, Vic

Kim took this wonderful photo of the Tarkine Rainforest:

Sadly, many of the Dolphins we saw were found stranded a few days later. At the time of writing, the cause was still being investigated.

These are my photos from the trip:
